As of 1 September 2005, citizens of the European Union, Switzerland and Lichtenstein will not need Ukrainian visas to enter and transit Ukraine, if the term of their stay in Ukraine does not exceed 90 days.
The EU and Swiss passport holders can already visit Ukraine without visas. The rule came into force on 1 May 2005 and provided for a 4-month visa-free regime in view of the European Song Contest “Eurovision-2005” that was held in Kyiv in May as well as in order to develop tourism to Ukraine.
Canadian citizens are allowed to enter and transit Ukraine without visas as of 1 August 2005, if their term od stay in Ukraine does not exceed 90 days.
